Thank you for including us in your 2024 Thanksgiving celebration! From all of us at Mon Pitou, we’d like to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy this holiday feast that our team has lovingly prepared for you. Now, let’s begin! Attached are the cooking instructions from our co-founder and creative director, JH.
Ah, the joy of a perfectly roasted turkey—a centrepiece that speaks to the heart of any gathering. Let’s begin, shall we?
First, set the stage by preheating your oven to a gentle 325°F, letting the warmth fill your kitchen as you prepare the turkey for its golden transformation.
Take a half-sheet pan, line it with parchment paper—because even the simplest steps should feel a little luxurious—and place the turkey breast on top, skin side up, as though it’s ready for its grand entrance.
Now for a key step that adds layers of flavour: gently loosen the skin over the turkey breast and insert your prepared herbed butter underneath. Spread it evenly to ensure every bite is infused with rich, savoury goodness.
Now, into the oven it goes for the first hour. During this time, the butter will melt under the skin, and the skin will begin to crisp ever so slightly, releasing the first hints of savoury aromas that will soon fill the air.
After an hour, it’s time for a little magic. Remove the turkey and scatter your prepared autumn vegetable medley around the breast, like colourful jewels complementing the star of the show.
Return everything to the oven for the final act—watching carefully as the skin turns a deep, irresistible golden brown. You’ll know it’s perfect when an instant-read thermometer tells you the breast has reached 165°F, about 40 minutes to an hour. If the skin starts to brown a little too enthusiastically, a loose drape of aluminium foil will keep everything in balance.
While your turkey basks in the oven, it’s time to tend to the supporting cast. Remove the cardboard lids from your mashed potatoes and stuffing, and let them join the turkey on the lower rack, absorbing that shared heat for about 45 minutes to an hour.
As the turkey finishes its journey, allow it to rest, loosely covered with foil, for 15 minutes. This pause will let the juices settle, giving you the most tender slices. And as the turkey rests, gently heat your gravy in a saucepan, whisking slowly until it’s gloriously piping hot—ready to drizzle over every bite.
To complete this feast, serve the turkey alongside its flavorful pan juices, the rich stuffing, and a dollop of apple chutney, the perfect cool contrast to the warmth on your plate.
It’s not just a meal—it’s a moment. Enjoy every bite.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thank you for supporting our small business.
With love always,
Jesse Jonathon Hawes & Triet Duong
